Guglielmo Mangilli documented the river from its emergence from Lake Geneva, in the heart of the city of Geneva, to the border between Switzerland and France. Following the course of the Rhône, the author examines the relationships that develop between the river, its natural environment, and the architectural structures built along its banks.
